Adidas was notified today by email from the NFHS, that this particular football shoe, the Adizero 8.0 SK Spikes (CG6534), as designed, is not compliant with current 2019 NFHS Football Rules and thus will not be permitted to be used for those games that are using NFHS Football Rules for play.
After reviewing a sample of the shoe sent from Adidas, the NFHS has determined that the “spikes” that are attached to the top and side of the shoe are a safety issue as these spikes are very hard and very abrasive to the touch and sharp at the point and thus does not comply with the current 2019 NFHS Football Rules.
Last August 2018, the NFHS and the NCAA both ruled that the following “Adizero 5-Star 7.0 Spikes” shoe was not compliant with our rules and was a safety issue. The above cleat is almost identical and is a safety issue again.
